All the primary shrubs are in. I may/may not plant anything more this year. I'd like to see how things fill in before adding anything more. I think this is going to be a beautiful spot. Huge thanks to the wonderful people at GardenWeb who helped me with design and plant selection. They are the ones who recommended the Iceberg roses and suggested I bring my Pink Lady Hawthorne off the fence and clump them in the center. Along the fence is potato vine, and in the shadier spot in the back I've got hydrangeas. That column in the center is the base of a birdbath I plan to make. YET another concrete and mosaic project on my list.
In the foreground, I've got these beautiful pink geraniums. They are special breast cancer awareness flowers, where a portion of the proceeds were donated to cancer.
I wish I had bought more. I don't know if this photo is doing justice. The color is neon vivid.
Next up will be field stones and river rock, but that won't happen until the first couple weeks of June. I need my hubby off to help with the hard stuff, and we're waiting until after our new shed is delivered. Can't wait to see this whole project done! In the meantime, I'm planning on enjoying a few weekends of well-deserved rest!
