Friday the 13th, massive rain and hail storm in the garden. Luckily, my spring veggies held up like champs, and my summer seedlings were safe in the workshop.
And just as quickly as it came, it was gone. Saturday and Sunday were beautiful. I took advantage and gave my tomato, pepper and herb seedlings a sun bath.
And to my delight, I'll have bearded irises soon. They are all budding, even the ones I divided and planted on the other side of the yard outside my kitchen window. Most exciting is this new one I had ordered over a year ago. It had taken so long to get them, I forgot what I ordered. One of them is blooming this year, which is surprising. I thought it took a full season before irises bloomed. But soon, I'll have a surprise. Don't know what color it is. Can't wait to find out!
